What I help with

Migraine and headache

Most people arriving with migraine already have something for the attack itself. What they do not have is anything that reduces how often the attacks come. That is the part I work on.

This might sound familiar

If two or three of these land, it is worth a conversation.

  • You have lost count of the days a year you have written off
  • Painkillers work, but you are taking them more often than you would like
  • You can feel one coming a day before it arrives
  • Attacks cluster around your period, or around the end of a stressful week
  • Constant low-grade head, neck and jaw tension rather than discrete attacks

What I look at

The first consultation works through all of this.

Frequency and timing
I will ask you to track attacks properly for a few weeks. A pattern that is invisible day to day is usually obvious across two cycles.
Magnesium and riboflavin
Both have real evidence behind them in migraine prevention, and both are commonly low. This is often where we start.
The hormonal link
Menstrual migraine is its own pattern with its own timing, and it is treated differently from migraine that arrives at random.
Blood sugar and meal timing
Skipped meals and long gaps are an underrated trigger, and one of the easiest to change.
Medication overuse
Frequent acute painkiller use can itself sustain headache. Worth identifying honestly, without judgement.

How I treat it

Prevention rather than rescue: magnesium and riboflavin at doses that have been studied, herbs with a role in vascular and nervous system tone, and systematic work on the triggers your tracking actually reveals. Where the pattern is hormonal, we treat the cycle.

What to expect, and when

Preventive treatment is judged on frequency over two to three months, not on the next attack. Keep whatever your doctor has given you for acute attacks — this works alongside it. New, severe, or changed headache needs medical assessment first, and I will send you for it.

Everything above is how I generally approach this area. What you actually get is decided in your consultation, on your case — not from a page.
